Real Madrid President Desperate For Haaland To Sign For Barcelona

The rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid has been one for the ages. The two sides have been amongst Europe’s elite for decades now, and the political foundations ensure that the heat never turns low between the two teams.

Between 2009-2018, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo donned the Blaugrana and white-and-gold, respectively and took the rivalry to the next level. During this period, the duo shared nine Ballon d’Ors, making El Clasico the biggest game in world football.

According to reports from Jorge Ramos of ESPN, Florentino Perez is looking to restore the rivalry by ensuring a high profile signing for each of the Spanish giants.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are the two most sought after assets in world football, with the former desperate to sign for Madrid in June. Perez now wants Barcelona to take charge of Haaland in order to keep the rivalry fresh.

Moreover, the Madrid president is well aware of what stars like the two bring to the stage, both in terms of competition and money.

Since the departure of Messi and Ronaldo, El Clasico has seen a steep fall in worldwide demand. The transition state of both the clubs combined with a rapid rise in stocks of other European clubs have contributed to this.
