Ghana vs Nigeria: Hudson-Odoi Takes Final Decision On Dumping England For Black Stars

Chelsea star, Callum Hudson-Odoi will finally dump the England national team and switch international allegiance to Ghana.

But this will only happen if the Black Stars beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria and book their place in the World Cup later this year.

Born in Wandsworth, London, to Ghanaian parents, the 21-year-old has represented England at various youth levels from Under 16’s onwards.

The Chelsea star came on as a substitute in England’s 5-0 Euro 2020 qualifier win over the Czech Republic at Wembley in March 2019 and then made his full debut three days later against Montenegro.

However, the Champions League and Club World Cup winner has not played for the senior team since then.

He later rejected a call up to the England Under-21 squad last year as he wanted to focus on his club commitments.

And now LondonWorld reports that the 21-year-old has taken his decision to make his international switch, telling his close circle he has decided to play for the Black Stars in the World Cup.

It’s now left for the Black Stars to overcome the huddle of beating Nigeria in the two-legged World Cup qualifying playoff to book their place in Qatar.

New FIFA rules mean that it is possible for the player and any other player in that matter, to switch their international allegiance despite two of his three caps coming in competitive fixtures.

“I don’t know. At the end of the day, we will wait until that time comes,” the Chelsea winger had told London Evening Standard when asked about his international future.
